MANILA, Aug. 19 (PNA)– The Association of Southeast Asian Nations Youth Leaders (AYLA) will stage its third Advocacy Camp on Aug. 28 to 30 at the Phillip’s Sanctuary in Antipolo, Rizal.
AYLA is a non-profit, non-sectarian, international non-government organization which provides youth leaders fine opportunities to both learn and teach.
Its programs range from youth empowerment to volunteer opportunities and educational camps.
Fifty two delegates from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam are expected to attend.
Entitled “ASEAN POV: Discover Yourself, Define ASEAN,” the three-day camp features talks from top Filipino advocates, including CreatiVoices Productions founder Pocholo Gonzales, United Nations Population Fund Philippines Youth Advisory chairperson Joey Dela Cruz, and Angat Kabataan ng Taytay president Tobit Cruz.
The program includes workshops, sharing sessions, cultural presentations – even an adventure race.
“Through this camp, we aim to create a strong network of advocates throughout the ASEAN region,” shares AYLA secretary general Neil Soria.
“No nation can act alone. Southeast Asia’s future leaders must learn from each other to develop realistic solutions to the challenges of their home countries, while forging a distinctive ASEAN identity.”
