LEGAZPI CITY, Aug. 19 (PNA) — Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal has expressed full support to the candidacy of Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, the anointed administration candidate in the 2016 election presidential election.
Rosal said Roxas is the right man to replace President Benigno Aquino III due to his “strong ability to manage the government with integrity and honesty.”
He pointed out that through the “Daang Matuwid” (straight path) governance, Legazpi City became one of the recipients of the national government’s projects and programs.
Rosal said the city has now the biggest number of recipients of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the entire Bicol region.
The Aquino administration has put up a Php2-billion flood control program with three pumping stations in Legaspi, according to Rosal.
”The civil works of this comprehensive urban drainage program and pumping stations are now in the finishing touches and it will be operational before the year ends, making Legazpi an all-weather city and a flood-free community,” Rosal said.
Last Tuesday, Rosal, joined by members of the city council and 70 barangay chairmen, attended a simple gathering attended by Roxas who graced the third death anniversary of the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo in Naga City.
Roxas said he accepted the challenge to continue the Daang Matuwid governance “to give the people opportunity to uplift their lives.” (PNA)
