People Management: Growing Business with Passion to Succeed

Posted on April 16, 2010

The Center for Small Entrepreneurs (CSE) periodically organizes a business forum which has been known as the “Kapihang Entrepinoy.” Through the years, thousands of micro and small entrepreneurs have gathered together with business faculty and students and would-be entrepreneurs to learn valuable business concepts and practices and exchange knowledge and experiences with each other.

In line with our commitment to provide holistic programs for a socially effective and efficient practice of enterprise building, CSE comes up with a market-relevant topic that will not only provide knowledge but skills and understanding of enterprise issues and trends that will help improve business operations geared towards profitability. We make it a point that at this opportune time, small and micro entrepreneurs can assess every detail and aspect within the enterprise contributory to business growth and success.

Driven by the goal of responding to the growing needs of entrepreneurs, the “18th Kapihang Entrepinoy” is themed “People Management: Growing Business with a Passion to Succeed.” Needless to say, the global economic meltdown continues to affect the Philippine business processes. Retrenchment and streamlining arises from mergers and closures of some who cannot cope with economic stress. The workforce is also uneasy causing resignation of valuable employees and a continuing process of training for new hires. The prevailing situation adds not only to the enterprise difficulty but vitally affects productivity. Hence, the challenge to empower Entrepreneurs and Managers to turn crisis into opportunities for developing and strengthening employees against pressure and stagnation.

The 18th Kapihang Entrepinoy has been designed to address the need for a strong people management that will keep the workforce committed and productive amidst economic crisis. Leadership, values and work ethics and the different mandates governing compensation and benefits will no doubt make a lot of difference in the daily practice of People Management.

Best practices are learned and developed through interaction with other experts in the field. Learning exchanges open horizons toward changes that lead to “Growing Business with a Passion to Succeed.”
