PNP builds PHP7.5-M edifice for Ozamiz City police

Posted on August 15, 2015

OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, Aug. 15 (PNA) — The local police, after waiting for decades, is now housed in a new standard “A” PHP7.5 million three-story building.

The newly-completed building was constructed in line with the transformation program of Local Government Sec. Manuel Roxas II that aims to provide decent buildings to the police “to be called their homes” aside from the procurement of new weapons and equipment.

Deputy Director-General Marcelo Garbo, Jr., Philippine National Police (PNP) deputy chief for operations, led the inauguration on Wednesday of the newly-completed building.

Garbo echoed the marching orders of Director-General Ricardo Marquez, PNP chief, for the police to “go back to basic” while carrying out their mission to protect and serve the people with dignity.

Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog told the Philippines News Agency that the PNP designed the newly-completed building and it was built with the lot and more than a PHP1 million funds as counterpart of the local government.

The city government, under the stewardship of Parojinog, has also turned over during the inauguration of the new building, two units Toyota Hi-Lux patrol cars worth PHP1.95 million.

Parojinog said the two patrol cars will help boost the capability of the local police to curb criminality as well as to maintain peace and order.

Parojinog said he invited Garbo to lead the inauguration of the newly-completed three-story building as a friend and as a mentor, who helped a lot for the realization of the project.

Gov. Herminia Ramiro expressed her gratitude to Garbo for paving the way for the realization of the project in this city as well as in Bonifacio town that was recently inaugurated.

The implementation of a similar project is ongoing in the municipality of Plaridel, this province. (PNA)
