MANILA, Aug. 15 (PNA) — Three crewmen were hurt after a fire broke out from the M/V Wonderful Star while it was about to dock at Port of Ormoc, Leyte early Saturday morning.
The blaze transpired at 3:50 a.m., Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson Cmdr. Armand Balilo said.
Firefighting efforts are still ongoing as of this posting.
There were no reported casualties among the ship’s passenger which was placed at 544 individuals.
The three wounded crewmen, out of a total of 60, were quickly rushed to the nearest hospital for minor and smoke-inhalation injuries.
The M/V Wonderful Star is owned by Roble Shipping and is used for the company’s Cebu-Ormoc run. (PNA)
