CSU, partner agencies convene for ‘operation blessing’

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Aug 14 (PNA) — The Cagayan State university (CSU) in its desire to bring not only its services but also the programs of the different government agencies closer to the doorsteps of the people, created the people’s Caravan dubbed as ‘Operation Blessing of Tuwid na Daan Tungo sa kanayunan’.

Dr. Romeo R. Quilang, the University president, and the campus executive officers of the different campuses of the university convened with the regional directors and representatives of the participating agencies and discussed the terms of reference of the operation blessing, the communities that will be benefited from it and the possible services that the partner agencies and CSU can offer to the people.

Quilang said that the operation blessing will be an opportunity for CSU and participating agencies to share their respective flagships to the community.

Different partner agencies expressed their strong support to the program by suggesting ideas that can improve the operation blessing and presented their various services.

The proposed services that government agencies can give are skills development by TESDA, security during the conduct of the activity by the PNP and Philippine Army, ID enrollment by PhilHealth, legal advise concerning Agrarian Reform issues by DA, Health improvement programs by DOH, career development programs and scholarship grants by CHED, laboratory services such the testing of drinking water by DOST, local government programs by DILG. training, trade fairs and putting up of Negosyo Center by DTI, employment services especially by BFAR. Also discussed in the meeting during the caravan, is the putting up of booths by participating agencies where they can address the concerns of the people.

To ensure the successful implementation of the program, the campus executive officers of the eight satellite campuses of the university shall serve as liaison officers for the operation blessing, and shall coordinate with local government units and participating agencies.

Students of the University will also participate in the program, It was agreed upon by the team that those who live in the communities that will be catered by the operating blessing will serve as focal persons and will feed the team information regarding the needs of the members of the community. Those students will also accompany the agencies in the communities especially in far-flung areas during the conduct of the caravan. Moreover, the operation blessing team will be conducting a profiling to determine the needs of the people in the community. (PNA)
