PRO2 awards outstanding police units, individuals

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Aug. 14 (PNA) — Outstanding police units and individuals and other entities were given recognition by the Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) during the 114th Police Service anniversary at Camp Marcelo A. Adduru in this city, Thursday.

PRO2 OIC Regional Director police Chief Supt. Ranier Quibin Idio, said this year’s celebration carries the theme: “Pambansang Polisya Sa Makabuluhang paglikingkod Makatarungang Pagpapatupad ng Batas”.

Idio and lone district of Batanes province congresswoman Henedina Razon Abad, guest of honor and speaker, led the awarding to deserving individuals and units and the special awards to individuals and entities who extended support to the programs, projects and thrusts of the regional command.

Rep. Abad, said “We need to bring the people together and to work together in a concerted effort to help each other”.

The Isabela Police Provincial Office (IPPO) received an award for the solution of sensational criminal case for the year 2014, the unit with most number of partisan armed group members neutralized for the year 2014, and national achievement award for the solution of sensational criminal case for the year 2014.

The Cagayan Police Provincial Office (CPPO) received an award as the unit with most number of firearms accounted for the year 2014; Santiago City Police Office as the unit with notable accomplishment in the campaign against illegal drugs for the year 2014.

Civilian awardees are Ilagan City, Isabela as outstanding local government unit for the year 2014; Presidential adviser on legislative affairs Secretary Manuel N. Mamba, in recognition and appreciation for his invaluable support and contribution to the capability enhancement programs and projects of the Police Regional Office 2 and media practitioners in due recognition of their support to the maintenance of peace and order of the who region that leads them to be adjudged as 2nd Best Regional Police Office in the Country.

Individual awardees are: Police Supt. Feliciano A. Caganguian, achievement awardee in the field of police administration for the year 2014; Senior Police Office 2 Frederick Fugaban Soriano, achievement awardee in the field for police administration for the year 2014; police Supt. Narciso Cansino, achievement award in the field criminal investigation for the year 2014; and Inspector Edgar Balbuena Anista, achievement in the field of intelligence for the year 2014. (PNA)
