MANILA, Aug. 14 (PNA)–The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Friday it has provided a total of Php 7,386,645 worth of family food packs and non-food items to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) for families affected by ‘Habagat’ or the Southwest Monsoon in Maguindanao province.
As of 4 p.m., Aug. 13, Habagat has affected a total of 22,511 families or 112,555 persons in Maguindanao.
There are no reported evacuees.
In Regions VI, X, and XII, where heavy rains also continued to prevail, some 11,633 families or 57,145 persons have been affected.
Some 566 persons, or 2,438 persons, are still in three evacuation centers managed by local government units of Negros Occidental, Bukidnon, and North Cotabato.
According to DSWD Secretary Corazon J. Soliman, the disaster teams in these affected areas continue to coordinate with the local government units for provision of resource augmentation, when necessary.(PNA)
