LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Aug. 11 (PNA) — The village of Ibabang Dupay in this city has started setting up Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras along the stretch of Maharlika Highway starting from Elvira R. Aranilla Elementary School (ERAES) down to Diamond and Resort Hotel including the village hall for a total of 20 CCTVs.
According to village chief Jacinto “Boy” Jaca, they allocated a budget of Php 300,000 for the CCTV project that was implemented starting Monday (Aug. 10) until the 20 CCTVs are in place at strategic locations to monitor the peace and order situation and prevent robbery and other crimes.
Moreover, he said that the village council also proposed an ordinance prohibiting any kind of vehicles to park or obstruct the ongoing road widening project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The said ordinance is expected to cause a smooth flow of traffic in the area. (PNA)
