Gov. Emano: MisOr accomplishment is ‘stupendous’

Posted on August 11, 2015

MISAMIS ORIENTAL, Aug. 11 (PNA) – Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano described as “stupendous” the accomplishment of Misamis Oriental two years after his election as governor.

“I am inspired to no end,” Emano said as he thanked the provincial people of elevating Misamis Oriental as the Second Most Competitive Provinces in 2015.

Emano made the remarks during his 2nd Annual “Taho sa Katawhan” (Report for the People), a derivative of the State of the Province Address (SOPA) on Monday.

He said that with the construction of provincial roads and bridges, the provincial government has spent over Php 144 million for the infrastructure projects of Misamis Oriental.

Emano also strengthened the province’s revenue collections since he became governor of Misamis Oriental in 2013. “From July 2013 to July 2014, the revenue collection of Misamis Oriental totaled Php 982.7 million,’ Emano said.

He said that from July 2014 to July 2015, the revenue collection of the province was Php 1.1 billion, up by over Php 100 million.

“I am happy that the province of Misamis Oriental is now regularly paying the salaries and wages of the workers in contrast to the previous administration that pays after a month or two delays,” Emano said.

The Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) of the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) selected Misamis Oriental as the Second Most Competitive Provinces in 2015 among the 81 provinces in the country.

Transparency and sound fiscal management are the attributes that made Emano’s administration ideal and a business friendly provincial government, the awarding body said.

Davao Del Sur bagged the first prize award while Cebu came in third. (PNA)
