2 detainees escapee from Zambo police headquarters

Posted on August 10, 2015

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Aug. 10 (PNA) — Police have launched a manhunt in a bid to recapture two detainees who bolted from detention early Monday in this city.

Senior Insp. Joel Tuttuh, Police Station 3 chief, said that object of the manhunt are Argie Gadjali and Louie Evangelista, who are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Tuttuh said they escaped from the detention cell of his headquarters around 1 a.m. Monday by sawing one of the iron bars with a hack saw.

He said the escape of the duo was discovered around 3 a.m. during a head count conducted by the incoming detention cell guard.

He said the other five detainees told them that they were asleep when their two companions escaped.

He said that Gadjali and Evangelista were arrested in an anti-drug operations last month.

Senior Supt. Angelito Casimiro, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, said the outgoing detention cell guard has been placed under camp restriction.

Casimiro said investigation will be conducted to determine who are culpable for the escape of the two detainees at the Police Station 3.

The Police Station 3 headquarters is located in Barangay Sangali, 25.34 kilometers east of City Hall. (PNA)
