PSA gears for Population Census enumeration

Posted on August 9, 2015

By Villamor Visaya Jr.

TUMAUINI, Isabela, Aug. 9 (PNA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority has been ready for the start on August 10 of the one-month enumeration as officials bid to ensure a successful conduct of the nationwide 2015 Census of Population.

Interim Provincial Statistics Officer Julius Emperador said the Popcen 2015 is a complete enumeration of households in the country to take a primary inventory of the entire population nationwide which will be the basis of government, private and researches in planning.

He said that the third-level training of 115 census area supervisors was done from July 27 to August 1 at Amancio Hotel in Cordon for Isabela supervisors.

The fourth-level training for team supervisors and enumerators later followed on August 3 to 8 in 34 towns and three cities in Isabela–just like other areas nationwide which also held the trainings, he said.

As this developed, the local government units and other stakeholders have teamed up with the PSA for the project, Emperador added.

In Isabela alone, enumerators would list and record characteristics of each individual as of August 1, 12:01 a.m. as reference date in 1,055 barangays.

Enumerators will start their jobs on August 10 collecting information about basic characteristics of the population such as age, sex, marital status, religious affiliation, and highest grade completed.(PNA)
