CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Aug, 9 (PNA) – A local official here on Sunday enjoined parents to be aware of W.I.L.D diseases that become prevalent during the wet season.W.I.L.D stands for waterborne diseases, Influenza, Leptospirosis and Dengue.
Dante Pajo, chair of the city council committee on health and sanitation, said that wild diseases become prevalent during the rainy season.
He said that he sounded the alarm so that parents would be wary about the health of their children especially the grade school pupils.
“The Department of Health (DOH) has already warned everyone against W.I.L.D. diseases. Let’s do our share, be alert and help save lives,” Pajo said.
Pajo said that everyone must maintain a clean surroundings during rainy days by empty all water receptacles in the surrounding backyards in order to get of Dengue career mosquitos
He said that it is also important to get protection from contaminated waters during floods, which is a major source of Leptospirosis infection. (PNA)
