MANILA, Aug. 8 (PNA) — The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) will likely announce next week the date for pre-selling of beep cards for the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1).
LRT Authority spokesperson Hernando Cabrera on his official Twitter account on Saturday clarified that only coupons or paper tickets are currently being sold at LRT-1 stations and not the actual beep cards yet.
Passengers are expected to pass through service gates and show the coupons to security guards for inspection and collection.
At present, no final date has been announced for the transition of beep cards from magnetic cards being sold at the LRT-1 stations.
This transition comes after the successful pilot test of the new ticketing system at the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) last month.
All LRT-2 stations are currently selling beep cards. (PNA)
