CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Aug. 7 (PNA) -– Combined elements of the local police and the drug enforcement team collared this city’s no. 1 “drug suspect” here Thursday night,” the police said Friday.
Police investigators identified the suspect as Benmarc P. Garcia of Bugo, a former Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) federation president.
The operatives collared Garcia, along with a female accomplice identified as “Haide” during an entrapment operation in a downtown hotel here Thursday night, the police said.
Recovered from the suspects were five heat-sealed sachets, about 5 grams, containing white substance believed to be “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), an illegal drug, valued at Php 60,000.
Police said that the operatives have filed charges of violation of the comprehensive anti-drug law against the suspects that requires no bail.
The police has detained the suspects at the Maharlika Detention Cell at the local police headquarters here. (PNA)
