SANTA CRUZ, Laguna, Aug. 7 (PNA) — Police Senior Superintendent Florendo S. Saligao, Acting Provincial Police Director, presented Friday morning before the media and Maricar Palacol, Provincial Peace and Order Officer representing Governor Ramil Hernandez, the accomplishments of the anti-criminality operations of the Laguna police conducted from July 15-August 7, 2015.
Within the period, the Laguna Provincial Police Office, being the provincial government’s primary institution in maintaining the peace and order and the lead agency in the campaign against illegal drug activities in the area, implemented 31 Search Warrants, arrested 137 persons through the serving of Warrants of Arrest, arrested 182 persons on illegal drugs (Republic Act 9165), and arrested 21 persons for illegal firearms with 25 loose firearms confiscated.
The operations led to the arrest of a total of 340 persons, 25 loose firearms confiscated and 143.12 grams of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) confiscated with a street value of Php 300,000.
Saligao said: ”Laguna PPO, in coordination with the different police stations, and the Provincial Government of Laguna with the utmost support of the community shall take a more aggressive posture of police operation against criminals particularly on the campaign against illegal drugs and arrest involved criminal elements and other forms of lawlessness in province, making this community a safer place to live and do business”.
