MANILA, Aug 7 (PNA) — Bad weather due to typhoon “Hanna” prompted the cancellation of 15 international and domestic flights on Friday afternoon, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said in an advisory.
According to MIAA, four international flights to and from Taipei were cancelled, namely 5J 310 (Manila-Taipei), 5J 311 (Taipei-Manila), 5J 312 (Manila-Taipei), and 5J 313 (Taipei-Manila).
These flights belong to Cebu Pacific (CEB).
CEB canceled its domestic flights 5J 529 (Manila-Busuanga), 5J 530 (Busuanga-Manila), 5J 895 (Manila-Caticlan), 5J 898 (Caticlan-Manila), 5J 900 (Caticlan-Manila), 5J 905 (Manila-Caticlan), and 5J 906 (Caticlan-Manila).
PAL Express meanwhile also cancelled four domestic flights, which included 2P 2031 (Manila-Busuanga), 2P 2032 (Busuanga-Manila), 2P 2071 (Manila-Calbayog), and 2P 2072 (Calbayog-Manila).
State-run weather bureau PAGASA earlier predicted Batanes group of islands would experience stormy weather while Western Visayas and the provinces of Mindoro and Palawan would experience monsoon rains.
The Zamboanga peninsula, Northern Mindanao, SOCCKSARGEN, ARMM, Bicol Region, Cagayan Valley, Ilocos, Cordillera, Rest of Visayas and the provinces of Marinduque and Romblon will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country were predicted to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms. (PNA)
