ZAMBOANGA CITY, Aug. 4 (PNA) – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has called on the public to support the activities of the agency.
Ronaldo Taghap, PSA regional director, made the call as they are scheduled to start on Monday, August 10, the conduct of the mid-decade census on population.
The census on population is set to be completed on September 6, this year.
Taghap said they have enlisted the services of hundreds of enumerators to go on a house-to-house census here in the region. They were properly trained to do the census.
Taghap said the enumerators will be in uniform and identification card (ID) so that they will be properly identified.
Taghap said they foresee an increase of 1.87 percent in the population of this region from 3.4 million in 2010 3.7 million this year.
He said the cooperation of the public is important to enable them to get the right population data, which will be the basis in the implementation of programs by the different government agencies.
He said they are already prepared to undertake the census on population. The last census on population conducted by PSA was held in 2010. (PNA)
