Calamba City Council commends 3 AFP generals

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna Aug 4 (PNA) — Three military generals, who hailed from this city,formally received their respective Plaque of Commendation from Mayor Timmy Chipeco during a flag-raising ceremony here Monday.

The City Council, through a resolution filed by City Councilor Moises E. Morales and was unanimously approved on June 1, 2015, commended Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Brigadier General Arthur P. Ang, Commander of General Headquarters Service Command; Brigadier General Elmer C. Pabale, Philippine Army Inspector General; and Commodore Rafael G. Mariano, commander of the Eastern Mindanao Naval Forces.

Resolution Number 143, Series of 2015 commended the three generals who were born in this city “for their laudable performance in the field of military service” while “giving honor to the city. “

Ang, in a letter sent to the Office of Vice Mayor Roseller H. Rizal, thanked the Sangguniang PanLungsod (City Council) for the commendation, saying, “It has been my lifelong dream to serve the nation and by doing so bring honor to my place of residence, the City of Calamba.”

Furthermore, he said, “To be recognized and commended by this city after having rendered arduous service to our nation warms my heart and shows that I have indeed brought honor to our city.” (PNA)
