MANILA, Aug. 4 (PNA) — The oral arguments on the case of Torre de Manila, the so-called “photobomber” of the monument of Gat. Jose P. Rizal, in Luneta Park, Manila, will resume at the Session Hall of the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday afternoon.
Set to appear before the SC at 2 p.m. Tuesday to present their side of the case are DMCI Homes (DMCI), the developer of Torre de Manila; the City Government of Manila and the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG).
Acting Chief Justice Senior Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio will again serve as the presiding officer of the SC en banc to hear the oral arguments.
This was after Chief Justice Maria Lourdes P. Aranal Sereno filed again a leave of absence beginning on Monday afternoon.
The leave of absence was again filed after a two-week “wellness leave” of the Chief Justice which coincided with the first day of the oral arguments on the case of Torre de Manila last July 21.
Associate Justice Jose Portugal Perez earlier inhibited himself from the case because a member of his family had purchased a condominium unit from the DMCI. (PNA)
