MANILA, July 31 (PNA) — Most parts of Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains on Friday due to Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting these areas, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The ITCZ, which is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia, is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.
For Friday forecast, PAGASA said the presence of ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Visayas and Mindanao and the provinces of Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon, Masbate and Sorsogon.
It added the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have fair weather or partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to north will prevail over Luzon and coming from the northeast to southwest over the rest of the country.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. (PNA)
