MANILA, July 29 (PNA) — Philippine equities finished almost unchanged Wednesday after two days of losses in the absence of fresh leads.
The barometer index gained slightly 3.80 points to 7,482.83 from previous day’s 7,479.03 close.
Brokerage firm 2TradeAsia.com said the Wall Street’s ascent on hopes the Federal Reserve rate hike might be further deferred to later this year drove the market slightly higher.
It advised investors to revisit stocks that have been beaten by the selling pressure such as property, financials and holding firms.
Market was mixed, with the property, mining and oil and holding firms in the red.
The sub-indices of other counters advanced slightly.
Value turnover reached Php8.53 billion with 3.76 billion shares traded.
Advancers outnumbered decliners, 92 to 75, while 48 issues were unchanged. (PNA)
