BUTUAN CITY, July 28 (PNA) — Butuan City fire marchall FCInsp. Cesar Augustus Kenazo is looking forward for the establishment of a fire sub-station of the Butuan City Central Fire Station at Brgy. Libertad, the largest city barangay of Butuan.
Kenazo mentioned the matter in his message during the recent successful training of the “First Internal Responders of Emergency” fire drill and training jointly initiated by the Butuan City Bureau of Fire Protection and the Barangay Council of Libertad.
The participants, according to the City BFP, was the largest so far in all their barangay trainings.
During the training, the participants were drilled in the various aspects of fire emergency, response and safety were organized to become first responders in cases of fire incidents in the village. More enhancement trainings are planned in the future, he said.
According to Kenazo, it would be most appropriate if the barangay will not have only an organized first responders but also a fire sub-station where they can place a standby firetruck and some of their fire-fighting equipments and a number of personnel ready for any fire emergencies at the village or its neighboring villages.
Libertad Brgy. chairman Vincent Rizal C. Rosario assured the fire official that they may take up the matter during one of their sessions. (PNA)
