MANILA, July 24 (PNA) — Award-winning RnB singer Chris Brown is free to leave the country after getting Immigration clearances Friday.
Atty. Elaine Tan, BI Spokesperson said the American singer personally got an Emigration Clearance Certificate (ECC) from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) office in Makati City Friday afternoon.
“The ECC (was)issued by BI Makati office around 4:30 p.m. today (July 24) after verifying that Chris Brown has no other derogatory record apart from the Immigration Lookout Bulletin (ILB),” Tan said in a text message.
She added, “Departure formalities will be implemented by immigration officers at the airport.”
Immigration Commissioner Siegfred Mison said Brown has to secure a flight clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines first before he could leave the country, possibly Friday night.
Meanwhile, Mison said that Brown’s promoter, John Michael Pio Roda, a Canadian, had been detained for violation of Immigration law. He did not give details, however.
Brown and Roda were barred from leaving the country last Wednesday following request from the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
INC’s request was due to its pending complaint against the duo in connection with alleged non-appearance of Brown in INC’s Dec. 31, 2014 New Year’s Countdown project in Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
The International artist is in the country for a one-night concert in Pasay City last July 21. (PNA)
