TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte, July 23 (PNA) — Police Superintendent Lito E. Patay has taken the leadership of the Tagum City Police Office effective July 20.
He replaced P/Superintendent Solomon de Castilla who is now assigned at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Davao del Norte headquarters.
Mayor Allan L. Rellon welcomed this change of leadership in the city’s police force, stating that this ushered in a new chapter in the city’s peacekeeping efforts.
“I will be leading group of policemen assigned here long time ago, not another unit of police officers, who will be taking over the responsibilities in peacekeeping in the city,” Patay said.
“We are hired, trained and paid for it to serve the majority,” he added.
Patay assured Tagumenyos under his leadership the rights of every individual will be continually respected and likewise asked the cooperation of the public for them to effectively carry out their mandate in securing the public.
The new chief of police also commended Police Supt. de Castilla for his two years of successful service in Tagum’s post, highlighting the achievements of PNP Tagum under de Castilla’s leadership.
Rellon thanked de Castilla for making the city safe for everyone for the past two years and welcomed the new police chief, saying that “nothing is impossible to curb criminalities if we work together.” (PNA)
