MANILA, July 22 (PNA) — Globe Telecom Inc. subsidiary G-Xchange, Inc. on Wednesday said that it has partnered with four technology retail companies to expand the distribution of a service that allows credit card transactions.
Under the arrangement, the service Globe Charge will be carried by over 250 partner outlets located in different parts of the Philippines namely AllPhones (41 branches), MemoXpress (138 branches), PC Express (38 branches), and Silicon Valley (37 branches).
Globe Charge enables entrepreneurs, small business owners, and professionals to accept credit card payments without the need for traditional credit card terminals.
It also allows businesses and professionals to accept MasterCard and Visa card payments, thus providing more payment options to customers, and resulting to more sales.
In order to use Globe Charge, a merchant only needs to have an Android or iOS device, Globe or TM SIM card with GCash account, Globe Charge Mobile Card Reader, and Globe Charge mobile app. It also works easily and conveniently with Wifi or mobile data, with no data charges for Globe and TM SIMs.
GXI President and CEO Xavier Marzan, in a statement, welcomed the company’s latest development.
“We are very pleased to collaborate with the country’s leading distributors of computer hardware and accessories, mobile phones, and gadgets which play a vital role in bringing Globe Charge closer to its customers,” Marzan said.
“Through this partnership, small-and-medium sized enterprises will have more avenues to purchase Globe Charge credit card reader off-the-shelf and be able to use it immediately to accept more customers and generate more sales for their business,” he added.
Marzan’s sentiment was echoed by two of its partners—AllPhones and Silicon Valley, who also expressed gratitude for the tie-up.
AllPhones Marketing Manager Allan Catli described GCash as an “innovator in the mobile financial space.”
“We are happy to be in partnership with them,” Catli said.
Silicon Valley Business Development Head Jobi Noel for his part said that the partnership was anticipated since both companies had the same vision to make connectivity easier for its customers. (PNA)
