MANILA, July 20 (PNA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is set to distribute on Monday a total of 21,440 family food packs to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries and farmers in Benguet whose sources of livelihood have been affected by continuous rains due to the southwest monsoon or “hangin habagat” for the past weeks.
“The provision of family packs is just an immediate intervention while the families are being assisted in restoring their farms and getting back on their own again,” DSWD Secretary Corazon J. Soliman said.
The operation is being conducted by DSWD in collaboration with the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Police Regional Office- Cordillera and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) personnel in the region.
Distribution of family packs will be as follows:Atok, 1,640; Bakun, 1,558; Bokod, 1,166; Buguias, 2,652;Itogon, 1,636; Kabayan, 1,798; Kapangan, 2,107; Kibungan, 1,710; Mankayan, 1,246; Sablan, 804; Tuba, 1,990; andTublay, 1,518.
A total of 1,650 Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) partner beneficiaries were also included in the list of the food pack recipients. (PNA)
