MANILA, July 20 (PNA) — Seven more offices of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) were awarded with the Citizen’s Satisfaction Center Seal of Excellence by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for providing exemplary frontline service. This brings GSIS’s total number of Seal of Excellence awardees to 21.
CSC officials headed by Commissioner Nieves Osorio awarded the seal of excellence to officials of GSIS headed by President and General Manager Robert Vergara in simple ceremonies held at the GSIS Head Office in Pasay City on July 20.
The awardees are the GSIS branch offices in Laguna, Tarlac, Bataan, Cauayan, Pasig, Batangas, and Palawan. They joined 14 other GSIS offices that received the Seal earlier, namely: Bacolod, Roxas, Aklan, Baguio, Bayombong, Borongan, Bulacan, Butuan, Dipolog, Laoag, Pasay, Surigao, Tagum, and Tuguegarao.
The offices each received a wall mountable glass seal and Php100,000 cash reward that they can use to buy equipment and materials for the improvement of their frontline service.
CSC awards the coveted Seal of Excellence to government offices that obtained Excellent ratings in the Anti-Red Tape Act – Report Card Survey (ARTA-RCS) and have no pending ARTA-related complaints in the centralized government help desk called Contact Center ng Bayan.
The GSIS had a dramatic turnaround in the survey, failing in 2012 but bouncing back in 2014 when it did not only get an Excellent overall score but even topped the ARTA-RCS among 1,000 government agencies. The pension fund obtained the highest percentage of offices that have been rated Excellent in the survey corresponding to 67% or 38 out of its 57 offices.
In his message, PGM Vergara said “…even as we appreciate the recognition that these awards represent, GSIS will continue to measure its success through the eyes of its members because as we all know service responsiveness, a close sibling to service excellence, is but a journey and not a destination.”
Vergara also said that the pension fund merited the awards through the “hard work and passion to serve of the men and women of GSIS.” (PNA)
