BACOLOD CITY, July 15 (PNA) — Forty-two high definition closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be installed at the Bacolod-Silay Airport within this year, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
Jasper Soon, IT consultant of CAAP, discussed the plan in a meeting he conducted with the airport security personnel, CAAP officials, and suppliers.
Soon said the installation of the CCTVs was delayed since these were supposed to be installed before the hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting in Bacolod City last April.
This was part of the upgrading of airport security for the safety of the passengers, he said.
The Bacolod-Silay Airport is one of the four airports all over the country that will be installed with the CCTV facility. Other airports are Iloilo, Kalibo, and Legazpi.
The CCTVs have the newest technology with high resolution cameras, and the main office of CAAP would also be able to monitor the airport’s activities through the CCTVs, Soon added.(PNA)
