ILOILO CITY, July 15 (PNA) -– Both Iloilo City Rep. Jerry P. Trenas and Iloilo second district Rep. Arcadio Gorriceta said that the administration of President Benigno Aquino III is leaving behind good governance as its best legacy for the Filipino people.
Trenas said that there had been no unprecedented economic growth experienced ever before until the Aquino administration. “Before, the economic growth was like a roller coaster that goes up and down, but with the Aquino administration it continued to go up,” the Iloilo City solon said in an interview Wednesday.
He said that Iloilo City is a testament to the successful implementation of the programs of the present administration particularly the investment on infrastructure projects.
Trenas also cited the remarkable Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) that has helped the poorest of the poor Filipinos with around four million now enjoying receiving cash grants; PhilHealth Universal Coverage and the Point of Care that hospitalized people could use and the automatic coverage of the senior citizens.
The congressman said that he expects the Chief Executive will mention these as gains of the Aquino administration during his forthcoming state of the nation address (SONA).
”The SONA will be more of a valedictory address with the only one year remaining,” Trenas said.
Meanwhile, Rep. Gorriceta said that because of good governance and having an honest president, there are many projects implemented and benefiting the people now. “There are only a few loses because of good governance,” the congressman said.
He too expects President Aquino to present his accomplishments during the SONA. (PNA)
