Isabela province observes disaster consciousness month

ILAGAN CITY, Isabela, July 14 (PNA) — The provincial government of Isabela through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has set various activities in observance of the National Disaster Consciousness Month this July.

PDRRMO chairman Edmond Guzman said the theme for this year is “Pamilya at Mamamayang Handa, Katuwang sa Pag-unlad ng Bansa.”

Edmond Guzman, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (PDRRMO), said that among the activities to be conducted during the month-long observance are the earthquake drill at Camp Melchor dela Cruz with soldiers; Rescuers Ungloved at Roxas Astrodome; Farmers Congress in San Agustin town; awarding of special commendation to most active PDRRMC members and oath taking ceremonies of Isabela Federation of Rescue Team and testimonial breakfast for PDRRMC members at Balay near the capitol.

Guzman said the earthquake and fire drill will be conducted at Lalauanan Sur High School; launching of “Todas Dengue, Todo na “To” and bloodletting activity; first Responders Training at Maconacon and Cabagan towns by Rescue 831 and Isabela Federation of Rescue Team; Earthquake and Fire Drill at Casa Del Nino Montessori School at the City of Ilagan today (July 14).

On July 17, 2015, a tree planting activity will be conducted at the town of Luna particularly at Riparian project; DRRM Training for youth leader at Dinapigue High School; the third quarter nationwide earthquake drill; Incident Planning for Integrated Command System to be held at Cauayan City; and Isabela Federation of Rescue Team participation to earthquake night drill sponsored by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

The bloodletting activity will be conducted in the four district hospitals of Isabela at Cabagan district Hospital, Roxas District Hospital, Echague District Hospital and Cauayan District Hospital. (PNA)
