MANILA, July 14 (PNA) — The Department of Justice (DOJ) has recommended the filing of tax evasion charges against businessman Cedric Lee.
In a resolution approved by Prosecutor General Claro Arellano, it said that the DOJ found probable cause in the complaint filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) against Lee, the chief executive officer and president of Izumo Contractors Inc. (Izumo).
Also recommended charged with tax evasion are the wife of Cedric Lee, Judy Gutierrez Lee, the chief financial officer of Izumo, and John Ong, the chief operating officer of Izumo.
In the complaint of the BIR, Izumo allegedly failed to pay income taxes in the amount of Php 194.47 million from 2006 to 2009. (PNA)
