MANILA, July 13 (PNA)–The Department of Education (DepEd) is currently investigating the food poisoning incident of students in CARAGA Region.
The affected students have been given proper health care and most of which have already been discharged from hospitals, it said.
Debriefing activities are currently being held for the students regarding this issue.
Dialogues with parents are also being done to remind them, among others, of the risks of buying food outside the school premises.
DepEd reiterates DepEd Order (DO) 52, s. 2008 on Food Safety in schools.
The DO emphasizes the “adherence to standards on quality, handling and serving of food in the school canteen and that food safety standards and hygienic practices are strictly observed and implemented.”(PNA)
