MANILA, July 10 (PNA) — Six flights were cancelled Friday due to inclement weather brought by southwest moon or “habagat”, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said in an advisory.
MIAA said that among flights cancelled include two flights between Manila and Virac namely 5J 821 (Manila – Virac), 5J 822 (Virac – Manila).
Both flights belong to Cebu Pacific.
Also cancelled were flights M8 816 (Manila – Basco), M8 815 (Basco – Manila), M8 1215 (Manila – Busuanga), and M8 1216 (Busuanga – Manila).
These flights belong to Skyjet Airlines.
State-run weather bureau PAGASA earlier predicted the southwest monsoon to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), CALABARZON and MIMAROPA. Residents in these areas are advised to be alert against possible flashfloods and landslides.
PAGASA also said that occasional rains are expected over Western and Central Visayas and over the rest of Luzon. (PNA)
