Posted on July 9, 2015

MISAMIS ORIENTAL, July 9 (PNA) –- Government agents nabbed a female drug ring leader along with four others in a raid in Misamis Occidental, a law enforcer here said Thursday.

Wilkins M. Villanueva, regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), identified the suspect as Zorabel Revil Banga a.k.a. “Mamay,” 38, of Talic, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental.

The suspect, who worked as a nursing attendant at the Misamis Occidental Provincial Hospital in Oroquita City, is reportedly the leader of the notorious “Revil Drug Group,” Villanueva said.

Armed with a search warrant, the PDEA agents swooped down on the suspect’s residence in the village of Talic in Oroquieta City Tuesday morning, Villanueva said.

He said that aside from the suspected ringleader, the agents also collared Debbie Revil, 19, female, Arnel Revil 32, male, Romnick Maisog Gumatas, 27, male, Junevel Suan Tacastacas, 31, male and a certain Jack Orong. One of the suspects, Charlie Caliat, eluded arrest.

Recovered from the suspects were 660 pieces transparent plastic sachets of various sizes allegedly containing 72 grams of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with a street value of about Php 180,000, and seven live ammunition for a .38 caliber revolver.

Villanueva said that the Oroquieta City Police has detained the suspects while the agents prepared the filing of charges of violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Anti-illegal Drug Law against the suspects. (PNA)
