MANILA, July 8 (PNA) — Typhoon “Falcon” has maintained its strength as it continues moving over the Philippine Sea on a west-northwest direction, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its 11 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said that as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, the eye of typhoon “Falcon” was located based on all available data at 1,250 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan (19.6°N, 133.4°E), packed with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is forecast to move west-northwest at 20 kph.
The state weather bureau said that no public storm warning signal has been raised in any part of the country.
The estimated rainfall amount is from heavy to at times intense within the 300-km radius of the typhoon.
Fisherfolk are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of Luzon.
Maintaining its speed and movement, typhoon “Falcon” is expected to be at 810 km east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes by Thursday morning.
By Friday morning, it is forecast to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) or at 585 km north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, and by Saturday morning is expected to be at 740 km north-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said severe tropical storm “Linfa” (“Egay” outside the PAR) will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon and bring light to moderate rains over the western section of Luzon. (PNA)
