MANILA, July 8 (PNA) — Due to rains brought about by the southwest monsoon enhanced by typhoon “Falcon,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a “yellow rainfall” warning over Metro Manila and the provinces of Cavite, Batangas, Zambales and Bataan at noon Wednesday.
Under the heavy rainfall warning system, a yellow rainfall advisory is raised when the expected rainfall amount is between 7.5 millimeters and 15 mm within one hour and likely to continue.
Communities given this advisory are advised to be aware of the weather condition and warned that flooding may be possible in low-lying areas.
Meanwhile, the weather agency said light to moderate rains are affecting Bulacan and portions of Pampanga, Quezon and Tarlac which may persist within two to three hours.
Residents of the above-mentioned areas are advised to take precautionary measures.
The public and the disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned are advised to monitor the weather condition and watch for the next advisory to be issued at 3 p.m. Wednesday. (PNA)
