MANILA, July 8 (PNA) — Three persons were killed while six others were injured after a fire, reportedly caused by faulty electrical wiring, gutted a four-storey building in Lian town, Batangas Wednesday.
The fatalities were identified as Annalyna Jonson, 50; Jewel Grace Batoto, 12; and her brother John Clifford, 9.
Jonson died after leaping from the third floor of the burning Triple J Marketing Building which was located at Dilimon St., Barangay Poblacion 2, Lian, Batangas.
While the two minors, earlier reported missing, were believed to have suffocated after being trapped from one of the rooms of the building.
The fire started 4 a.m. and ended at 7 a.m., said Bureau of Fire Protection-4A head Senior Supt. Ireneo Palicpic.
Six others were hurt in the blaze and one of them, 75-year-old Milagros Jonson, is now comatose due to injuries received in the fire. (PNA)
