CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, July 7 (PNA) -– A City Councilor here is pushing the implementation of the fire brigade requirements for business firms with 50 workers.
City Councilor Edna Dahino, chair of the city council commerce and trade, on Tuesday, said that the organization of the fire brigade in business firms with 50 or more workers is required under Republic Act 9514.
“Aside from a requirement before getting the Fire Safety Inspection Certificate, the fire brigade would be of great help in dealing with fire and other related emergencies occurring in concerned establishment and the nearby areas,” Dahino said.
Under the law, all members of the fire brigade shall undergo training from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services and related emergency response.
Dahino also lauded the firefighters the organization and reactivating 39 fire volunteer brigades and training 1,141 volunteer fire brigades last April by the Cagayan de Oro Fire District (COFD) here. (PNA)
