Palace says Aquino administration’s resolve to further boost PHL economy to continue

MANILA, July 7 (PNA) — Malacanang on Tuesday reiterated that the Aquino administration is firm on its bid to further boost economic growth to maximize the country’s potential and resources.

“The end goal is, of course, the advancement of the Filipino people, whose trust and optimism continue to inspire the administration to serve them better,” Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said in a statement.

Relatively, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., in a briefing, said the goverment would continue to hear the public’s sentiments to be able to service them more efficiently.

This after, results of the Social Weather Station (SWS) survey on public’s net satisfaction on the government for the second quarter of 2015 showed an improvement to +31 percent, which has a “good” rating, from quarter-ago’s +19 percent or “moderate.”

The government also got “good” ratings on issues like improving the quality of children’s education, providing enought supply of electricity, helping the poor, foreign relations, promoting the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), and ensuring that medicines are affordable.

It also got a “moderate” ratings on issues such as defending the country’s territorial rights, restoring peace to Mindanao, giving justice, fighting terrorism, and deciding quickly on important problems.

“Neutral” ratings were given to the government on its efforts on the rehabilitation of areas damaged by conflict in Mindanao, fighting crimes, and reconciliation with communist rebels.

The nationwide survey was conducted from June 5-8, 2015. (PNA)
