ZAMBOANGA CITY, July 6 (PNA) – The local government has allocated PhP15 million for the construction of a crime laboratory and renovation of Police Station 11 here.
Senior Supt. Angelito Casimiro, Zamboanga City police director, announced Monday the crime lab will be constructed at a government lot at the back of City Hall.
In the same area, the city government will also construct PhP29.9 million edifice to house the headquarters of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO).
Casimiro said the crime laboratory will be helpful to the local police and would hasten the conduct of forensic examination involving cases they handle.
The ZCPO at present rely on the services of the Regional Crime Laboratory located at Camp Gen. Eduardo Batalla, which also serve the other police commands in the region.
Casimiro said the crime laboratory will be constructed at the back of the to-be constructed ZCPO headquarters.
He said they had already initial talks with the Regional Crime Laboratory for the training of the necessary personnel to manage the facility in this city. (PNA)
