12 prexy bets file CoCs

PHILIPPINE NEWS SERVICE — A TOTAL of 12 presidentiables and three others vying for senators yesterday filed their certificates of candidacy (CoCs) with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Intramuros, Manila as early as 8:45 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

The first one to show-up at the ground floor of the Comelec office where the filing of CoC’s is being received, was Rigoberto Jalnaez Madera Jr., 61, a native of Bohol and who claims he is the standard bearer of Kilsan Baong Lipunan (KBL).

Jalnaez said he can easily convert the country as the 4th richest nation on earth once elected President of the Republic in 2010. Mediamen and Comelec personnel were surprise when they saw and heard Jalnaez made a “tilaok” like a rooster before giving his statement to the media.

The second presidentiable who filed his CoC was Gilbert Abulencia Garcia, 40, Biñan, Laguna. He arrived at the Comelec office at exactly 9:45 a.m..

The third candidate for president who showed up at the Comelec at 11:05 was 34-year-old Wendell Hanopol Lope, a native of Toledo, Cebu and resident at Gagalangin, Tondo, Manila.

He was followed by another presidentiable — Vicente Fetalvero Fabella, 46, of Oriental Mindoro who now stays with this family at Pasig City. He filed his CoC at exactly 11:10 a.m.

Josefina Galang Murillo, 56, of Pampangga and Prof. Peter Benalte Peligrino, 70, filed their respective CoCs with the Comelec at exactly 11:30. They are both vying for president in the May 10, 2010 elections.

The 7th candidate who filed his CoC yesterday at Comelec is Carmelo de Leon Carredo, 63. He showed up exactly 11:35 a.m.

Oliver Ocol Lozano, 69, Independent KBL and one Vetalino Seinez Acosta, 51, arrived at the Comelec and filed their respective CoCs’ at exactly 12:10 p.m.

Danny Magtira, 53, Eduardo Relonia Fernandez, 58, and Ernesto David Balite, 80, arrived at the Comelec office at 12:30 p.m. and waited until 1 p.m. before they filed their CoCs for President. They were the 10th, 11th and 12th Presidential candidate who filed their COCs.

The three senatoriables who filed their respective CCs were Victoriano Tejano Inte, 55, of Bohol, Micomi-I Someday La-Lawquero, 41, alias Lotlot, of Pasay City, and 67-year-old Eduardo Espares Sion, of Davao City.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said that there will be no disqualification of candidates during the filing of certificate of candidacy which will end on Dec. 1, 2009.
