LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, July 5 (PNA)–Mayor Jumil Espino, 26, of Bugallon, son of Gov. Amado Espinio Jr., sustained minor injuries when a Nissan Frontier Navarra he was riding in collided head-on with a Toyota Hi-Ace van along the national highway in Barangay Tonton in Lingayen at 11:50 p.m. of July 4.
The police reported that the accident happened near the boundary of Lingayen and Binmaley town when the Nissan Frontier Navara with Plate No. AEV-665 driven by Amado John Jefferson Espino, 26, a cousin of the mayor, was proceeding to the west direction from the east.
Meanwhile the Toyota Hi-Ace van, a UV Express, with Plate No. AYP-391 driven by Lino Sario, 46, of Itogon, Benguet, was coming from the opposite direction when the accident happened.
As a result,the driver of Nissan Frontier Navara, Amadio John Jefferson Espino, Mayor Jumil Espino as well as their companion who is their cousin, Mark Esteven Espino, 18. sustained injuries in different parts of their bodies and were brought to the Jesus Nazarene General Hospital in Lingayen for treatment.
Mayor Espino sustained minor injuries and is now out of danger.
The driver of the Toyota Hi-Ace van (Lino Sario ) was also hurt and was brought to the Lingayen District Hospital for medico-legal examination and treatment.(PNA)
