MANILA, July 5 (PNA) — Fourteen flights were cancelled on Sunday afternoon due to bad weather brought by tropical storm “Egay”.
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) in an advisory said that among airlines that have cancelled flights were low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific and PAL Express.
Cebu Pacific: 5J 513 (Manila-San Jose), 5J 514 (San-Jose-Manila), 5J 821 (Manila-Virac), 5J 822 (Virac-Manila), 5J 504 (Manila-Tuguegarao), 5J 505 (Tuguegarao-Manila), 5J 506 (Manila-Tuguegarao), and 5J 507 (Tuguegarao-Manila).
PAL Express: 2P 2084 (Manila-Basco), 2P 2085 (Basco-Manila), 2P 2014 (Manila-Tuguegarao), 2P 2015 (Tuguegarao-Manila), 2P 2196 (Manila-Laoag), and 2P 2197 (Laoag-Manila).
State-run weather bureau PAGASA earlier predicted that stormy weather with rough to very rough seas will prevail over Cagayan Valley, Kalinga, Apayao and Aurora. Ilocos provinces, Nueva Ecija and the rest of Cordillera will have rains with gusty winds and moderate to rough seas.
PAGASA also said that cloudy skies with thunderstorms and moderate to occasionally heavy rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon while light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Mindanao. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over the rest of the country with moderate to rough seas. (PNA)
