BACOLOD CITY, July 2 (PNA) — A tornado hit the village of Bagroy in Bago City, Negros Occidental around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, leaving two houses totally damaged and seven others partially damaged, a report from the Capitol said.
No serious injury was reported.
Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, provincial health officer, said that nine families composed of 35 individuals were affected.
Tumimbang, who is also officer-in-charge of Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, said the residents whose houses were damaged are now staying with their relatives.
The Bago City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council is providing assistance to affected families, he added.
Last month, five persons were injured when a whirlwind also swept through their houses at Batuan village in the neighboring town of San Enrique in southern Negros. (PNA)
