DUMAGUETE CITY, July 1 (PNA) -– The Perpetual Help Community Cooperative, Inc. (PHCCI) in Negros Oriental continues to partner with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to improve the living conditions of its members through skills training.
Just recently, 22 PHCCI members successfully completed the 15-day skills training on driving, trouble shooting and culinary arts, said Maricar Aranas Vensuelo, PHCCI marketing and advertisement coordinator on Wednesday.
According to her, the skills training program is part of the PHCCI’s community development and services intended to help members improve their livelihood.
Danilo Cabahug, chairperson of the PHCCI Board of Directors, was quoted in his message as saying that he is thankful to the members who responded to the program offered by PHCCI.
He congratulated the graduates for faithfully completing the 15 days training.
Cabahug also thanked TESDA for continuously assisting agencies and organizations like PHCCI in conducting skills training, Vensuelo said.
TESDA Specialist Jesila Ocariza also challenged the graduates of culinary arts to take the bread and pastry assessment exam in order to qualify for the National Certificate (NC2) of TESDA, according to Vensuelo.
The NC2 is one of the requirements for hiring culinary staff in big companies here and abroad.
In the last ten years, an estimated 400 PHCCI members graduated from various skills training in cooperation with TESDA, Vensuelo said. (PNA)
