MANILA, June 28 (PNA) – Malacanang on Sunday said the Philippines joined the international community in expressing condolences to the families of the victims of terrorist attacks that killed at least 63 people in Tunisia, Kuwait and France.
”We joined the international community in praying and expressing our condolences to the families of those were killed and injured,” Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said in a Radyo ng Bayan interview.
Coloma said the country also joined the call for the immediate action to find the culprits and give justice to the innocent victims of terrorism.
The Palace official said the embassies in France, Kuwait and Libya which has concurrent jurisdiction to Tunisia are ready to help the Filipinos that might have been affected by the deadly terrorist attacks.
”Of course the Department of Foreign Affairs continued to monitor to assure the safety and welfare of our countrymen in the affected areas,” Coloma said.
At present, Coloma said they have not received reports of Filipinos affected by the attacks.
According to reports, a man stormed a chemical plant in France, decapitated one person and apparently tried to blow the American-owned facility last Friday.
On the same day, a gunman assaulted a beach umbrella, killing at least 38 people at a seaside resort in Tunisia.
In Kuwait, a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a mosque during communal prayers, killing at least 25 Shiite worshipers.
The Islamic State group reportedly claimed responsibility for the attacks in Tunisia and Kuwait. (PNA)
