ZAMBOANGA CITY, June 25 (PNA) -– The city government has turned over to the Department of Education (DepEd) a newly-constructed PHP4.78 million two-storey four-classroom school building in Barangay Pasonanca this city.
Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the construction of school building, which was inaugurated Tuesday, is in line with her administration’s priority thrust on education.
Salazar said the new school building is sufficient to augment the number of classrooms for students of the Pasonanca Elementary School, whose population is increasing yearly.
City Eng’r. Luis Vicente Despalo said the construction of the school building started on December 17, 2014 and was completed on May 20, this year.
Despalo said the school building, which has an area of 394.04 square meters, was constructed by GHR Construction Company.
Pasonanca Elementary School Principal Joselito Narsico expressed deep gratitude to Climaco-Salazar’s administration for prioritizing education through the provision of school buildings and other interventions for the improvement of quality of education in this city.
Narsico said the new school building will be a great help to the students. (PNA)
