CEBU CITY, June 21 (PNA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 has recorded 33,995 low-income families in Central Visayas.
DSWD 7 Director Mercedita Jabagat said the figure is based on the fully accomplished Family Assessment Forms (FAFs).
Jabagat said the DSWD 7 is on its second round of identifying poor people in the region.
The first listing was in 2009, she said.
She said FAFs will serve as a guide for local government units and other government agencies and their partners in their social protection programs.
Jabagat said 443,765 accomplished FAFs have yet to be encoded.
The FAF is a four-page questionnaire with 52 observable and verifiable variables used in household assessment.
Once the poor families are identified, they can easily be given programs to improve their living conditions.
Jabagat said they are now halfway in their household assessment based on the 1,016,269 target for poor households in Central Visayas. (PNA)
