ECHAGUE, Isabela, (PNA) — The Bureau opf Internal Revenue (BIR) closed two establishments here after they were found to have been not paying their tax dues which accumulated to Php 3 million each in Echague and Angadanan, Isabela.
Revenue District Officer Atty. Salvador Lasala said those closed include the AMCF Trucking Company owned by Freddie Aliangan in Silauan Sur, Echague town and a construction company in Angadanan town.
The closure was imposed through the Oplan:Kandado program of the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
Regional Director Marina De Guzman of the BIR-Regional Office said they had ordered the erring taxpayers to pay their tax delinquencies and penalties within five days before they can reopen and resume business operations.
The taxpayers have been given “much time” to pay and settle their obligations but they did not act on the Letters of Authority given them, she added.
The move would encourage taxpayers to pay their right taxes, aside from minimizing tax evasion and other revenue breaches, she added.
